The Heart of Blue Boogie Farm
Blue Boogie Farm is a small family-run poultry farm located in Lutz, Florida, specializing in friendly, hand-socialized chickens, fluffy ornamental breeds, and colorful egg layers. What began as a simple wish for a slower pace and the quiet magic of a backyard flock quickly grew into a true family passion. At Blue Boogie Farm, we believe chickens offer far more than fresh eggs — they bring companionship, peace, laughter, and a deeper connection to nature and self-sufficient living. Every bird we raise is cared for with hands-on attention, daily interaction, and a genuine love for the animals we share with our Tampa Bay community.
The story behind Blue Boogie Farm began long before the farm officially existed. Founder Savanna, originally from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, spent years working as a Veterinary Technician before traveling across the country with her beloved dog, Ruca Blue, where she discovered a love for agriculture and rural life. After overcoming Triple Negative Breast Cancer and relocating to Pasco County, Florida for a fresh start, a small backyard flock unexpectedly became an important source of comfort and healing during recovery. Following the loss of Ruca Blue in 2023, the farm was officially named Blue Boogie Farm in honor of Ruca's one blue eye and her affectionate nickname, “Boogie.” Today, the farm continues to grow with the same mission it was founded on — raising beautiful, socialized poultry while sharing the joy, comfort, and connection that animals can bring into our lives.

Every farm has a guardian, and ours began with Ruca Blue. Long before Blue Boogie Farm existed, Ruca was my adventure companion, traveling across the country and inspiring my love of animals, nature, and rural life. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on throughout the farm she inspired. Today, Huckleberry and Wolfie proudly carry on her legacy, watching over the animals, greeting visitors, and helping make Blue Boogie Farm feel like home.
